Parson Russell Terrier Note Cards
A box of 8 notes printed on fine Ivory card stock, envelopes and matching seals featuring the Parson Russell Terrier.
When we first started painting dogs on things back in the 1990s, there was only one Russell breed - the Jack Russell Terrier recognized by the AKC in 1997. In 2003, the AKC changed the breed's name to Parson Russell Terrier probably because of an ideological conflict with the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America, which allows for more size variation in its breed standard than the AKC. Then, the AKC officially recognized the Russell Terrier as a second breed in 2012.
So, the AKC considers the Parson Russell and Russell to be separate breeds, with the Russell Terrier being a more compact, rectangular dog. The JRTCA considers both shapes and sizes to be Jack Russell Terriers primarily based on their working ability. It's complicated.
But all three "variations" originated in the 1800's from the same original terriers bred by English Reverend John 'The Sporting Parson' Russell, whose two passions in life were his ministry and his hunting dogs. All three are typical independent minded terriers to the core.
You can personalize the front of your cards under the design with your name, your dog's name or any other sentiment (ie Thank You) you dream up. FOR FREE!
